Splume Launches!
Hey everyone! Apologies for the lack of updates here recently. I’m just now wrapping up a multitude of projects, include this little beauty: Splume, a three week web game project. Look for an objective review from one of the new staff here shortly:
And keep an eye on the page! The reviewers have been doing a great job, and there are a number of new reviews to post in the next week.

Top-Notch brilliance! Greatest web game I’ve played in a while, great job, Matt and team Flashbang!
On a side note, Unity Web Player is quite a feat. It always amazes me hoe fast it is.

This is really awesome. One of the best games I’ve played, and it’s free! And the “Happening Right Now” is a cool feature. :)
The only thing is, it’d be nice if there was a mute button. But knowing me, there is and I just haven’t seen it.

No mute button, sadly. That’s what three weeks of programming time gets you. We definitely *should* add one, though, I agree.

That was fun. Lots of satisfying squishy noises. Nice work, Matt and Co. :)

Wow — great game. I enjoyed it very, very much. I must say, though…I never really figured out how to lose. Don’t get me wrong — I lost. But I never knew why it happened or how to prevent it. Aside from that, really great game. I love those sound effects.

Hot damn, I thought Matt abandoned us, but no; He granted us with a friggin awesome physics game!
Thanks Matt!

Ah dammit, for some reason it won’t do anything after level 1. It just shows the “Level 2 Two Shot Monkeys” text, and the background… Help would be VERY appreciated

So,what do you think,is unity viable for a larger project?

For me the second level doesn’t work, it only shows the background. :(

to answer you question to lose. well… every time a shape is at the bottom but HAS NOT FALLEN. it starts a timer. when the timer reaches zero you lose. its weird way but, hey im not the programmer

I have the same problem as Muntu, I can’t play the second level and I can’t play user created levels, it sais I might not be connected to the Internet.
I hope this wasn’t JUST a 3 week project because I would really like to see those problems fixed so I can play the whole game :-( .

Your level editor broke my firefox
I like this game

love it. mostly cause it lets you apply certain strategies that wouldn’t normally be able to do in games like this. like tossing a link of shapes to press two shapes together so they break then the chain falls off. in games like snood that isn’t possible. so its pretty easy to see how throwing physics in ANY game. can completely change the game play.
hope to see more levels soon!

Neither I can play level 2. It just stucks there and nothing happens. Tried on IE and Mozilla aswell, with firewall and antivirus on and off but nothing changed.

The level 2 bug has been fixed. Make sure the title screen says version 1.15 (if not hit CTRL-R in your browser to refresh). The problem only happened on non-US locale computers.

Wow I had seen an earlier version, you guys added a LOT in like no time at all! The Peggle-esque level variation goes a long way, and especially love the sad little eyes that make me feel conflicted about popping the little dudes. It’s got a juicy feel too, sswink! Congrats on rocking the Unity comp!

can anyone play user levels?
on October 25th, 2007 at 5:50 pm
MUe; yeah.
Matthew; “…four weeks of love…” Four weeks of ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE!
Ahem… this is a very good game, and one of the coolest browser games I’ve played at all. Give the rest of the Flashbang team the fun-motion community’s thanks! You all did a very good job.

Perfect game of its genre! Only multiplayer mode is missing (and maybe some opponent on the high score tables :).
on November 6th, 2007 at 2:34 pm
Wow, you made the “snood/breakout” genre fun again by adding gravity! Whats next, a point and click with thermodynamics?
And by that, I mean great job!
